The Children’s Society first introduced Christingle in 1968 and it has since become one of the most popular events for families and communities in the church calendar at Christmas.

Loved by children and adults alike, this Candlelight celebration is an ideal way to share the key messages of the Christian faith, while helping to raise funds for vulnerable children across the country.

The Children’s Society relies on the vital funds raised through Christingle celebrations.

What is the symbolism of the CHRISTINGLE?

       1.The orange represents the world.

2.The red ribbon indicates the love and blood of Christ.

3.The dried fruits and the sweets symbols of God’s creations.

4.The lit candle symbolises Jesus the light of the world.

Come and enjoy the celebration

The Christmas Star

by Mary Garren

May the Light that shone

from the Christmas Star

On that night so long ago

Fall on you this Christmas night

and set your face aglow

May it shine from your eyes

May it rest in your mind

May it burn in your Spirit bright

May the Peace it spoke to a weary world

Bring Joy to your heart tonight.

Our popular Cream Teas have finished for this year. We expect to restart on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday 2017 and continue on Sundays through until the last Sunday in September, at Holy Trinity Church, Penn Street (HP7 0PX), also known as the Church in the Wood, 3:00 to 5:00 pm. (inside when wet or cold). Mmmm, cake, scones, cream, jam, tea, coffee, squash - great before or after a walk in the lovely Penn Woods.
